Bring water to a rolling boil for at least one minute before drinking, cooking, brushing teeth or making ice. It is a precaution issued whenever pressure drops far enough that contamination cannot be ruled out until samples come back clear.
A notice stays in effect until the system has taken samples and every test comes back clear — usually about two days. The lift is posted here and sent straight to anyone signed up for alerts.
City Hall, (731) 239-3680, Monday to Friday 8:00am–4:30pm. Report standing water in the road or a sudden pressure drop as soon as you see it — most leaks are spotted by residents before crews find them.
Cloudy water after a repair is usually air or sediment stirred up when pressure returns. Run a cold tap for a few minutes. If it has not cleared, call City Hall.
Pay any time of day, without a trip to City Hall. Have your account number from your bill to hand.
